Ouichef! The school of ‘cuisine gourmand’ is proud to present a French cooking holiday that will be both enjoyable and memorable. Our aim at Ouichef is to introduce you to the world of the ‘famous French cuisine’. Your experience whilst at Ouichef will involve a hands-on, fun and friendly cooking holiday which will focus on the classic recipes and cooking techniques of France.

The cookery programmes on offer will be conducted in English and meet the needs of all, whether you have a basic knowledge of cookery or are a keen amateur or even a professional. Your chef for the programme will be Andy Whitson who has been cooking for thirty years (all his working life) Andy is French classically trained and for the last 15 years has worked as a college senior chef lecturer. Andy has also won many awards in national and international culinary competitions and has captained senior teams and student teams to great success. Andy has a vast amount of practical experience and knowledge which he openly shares with his Ouichef students so that they gain the ultimate cooking holiday experience.

The Ouichef cookery school is set in the beautiful and picturesque Normandy countryside in Neuville sur Touques which is 8 Kilometres south of Vimoutiers. It is easily reachable from the ferry ports of Le Harve, Caen, Cherbourg and Dieppe and is a three and a half hour car journey from Calais. (click here for travel details)

The cookery school is in a new building which has been built in the traditional Normandy style by local artisans and has accommodation on the first floor. The kitchen is fully equipped and has been designed to maintain the traditional feel of the exterior of the building. It also has toilets and showers on both floors. There is also an 8 x 4 mtr swimming pool to cool down in if it gets a little hot in the kitchen.(click here to see pictures).

            This program is designed to totaly immerse yourself in the kitchen and enjoy

            the fruits of your labour after with a wonderful six course gourmet dinner. The             course has three full days of gourmet cuisine. A must for those who are keen to             get involved and improve on their cooking skills.

  *     Ouichef!  ‘Cuisine du Terroir’  (7 day program)

  This program covers regional specialities from all over France and strongly
  focuses on local produce and peasant tradition. Although the programme is
  classed as basic, you will find that a challenging amount of practical skills is
  included. There is a distinct return to ‘cuisine terroir’ in many restaurants today
  and to the forgotten flavours of local farm produce. (click here for menu samples)
